Headless Queen: Glitch Witch Games’ New Division for Retro-Themed Horror

We at Glitch Witch Games have always been passionate about retro RPGs, channeling the charm and nostalgia of the classics into our own unique creations. However, our love for retro doesn’t stop at RPGs. We’ve long been fascinated by the eerie and immersive world of horror visual novels, particularly those inspired by the aesthetics and themes of 80s horror games.

To better explore this love and distinguish our work across genres, we’re thrilled to introduce Headless Queen, our new division dedicated exclusively to horror games. Headless Queen will focus on crafting terrifying and memorable experiences, steeped in the retro vibes we adore, but with a twist of the macabre.

Our inaugural title under Headless Queen is Homebound, a short horror visual novel that pays homage to iconic 80s horror games like Uninvited (1986). Homebound is designed to evoke the spine-chilling atmosphere and pixelated artistry that defined the era, while delivering a modern narrative punch.

Homebound tells the story of a man who finds himself trapped in an eerie house filled with dark secrets. Players will navigate through tense scenarios, solve cryptic puzzles, and uncover the unsettling truth about their predicament. With its atmospheric storytelling and retro-inspired visuals, Homebound is a love letter to the golden age of horror gaming.

We’re excited to announce that Homebound is set to release in February 2025. We can’t wait for you to experience the chills and thrills of our first Headless Queen project.
